应我校地球科学与资源学院孟俊教授邀请，意大利米兰比可卡大学地球与环境科学系 Coupled Earth Systems 研究组研究员 Bram Vaes将来我校进行学术交流，并做学术报告。 时间：2025年8月28日（周四）10:00-12:00 地点：科研楼208 报告人简介：Bram Vaes，意大利米兰比可卡大学（Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca）地球与环境科学系 Coupled Earth Systems 研究组研究员，长期从事板块构造与地球气候系统相互作用方面的研究。Bram荣获国际 IAGA Early Career Award 及多项论文奖项，在 Earth-Science Reviews、AGU Advances、JGR: Solid Earth 等国际权威期刊发表多篇论文，并开发开源平台 APWP-online.org，为古地磁与古地理研究提供了重要工具。 Bram Vaes报告内容简介：My presentation will focus on the next-generation apparent polar wander paths (APWPs) calculated from site-level paleomagnetic data and their applications in reconstructing Earth’s paleogeography. I will explain how this method gives higher weight to larger datasets and incorporates spatial and temporal uncertainties, providing more reliable estimates of apparent polar wander rates for all major tectonic plates over the last 320 million years. I will also discuss the implications for true polar wander (TPW) and introduce the online platform APWP-online.org, which allows users to compute site-level APWPs and quantify relative paleomagnetic displacements. Finally, I will showcase an application for the North China block and highlight future directions for improving APWP quality and resolution. 欢迎广大师生参加，研究生记学术报告一次！
